Mikel John Obi
Mikel is a highly respected and successful sports figure who has duly represented his country and continent on the global stage.
Mikel began his career with local club Plateau United, before joining Norwegian club Lyn at the age of 17 in 2004.
In 2006, he signed with English club, Chelsea and since gone on to play for other foreign clubs such as Tianjin TEDA, Trabzonspor and Stoke City.
In a 14-year international career between 2005 and 2019, he played 91 times for Nigeria, scoring six goals.
He has gone on to win a total of 13 trophies for club and country respectively including the prestigious Uefa Champions League and African Cup of Nations.
Mikel is dedicated to helping to discover the best young talents in Nigeria through The John Obi Mikel Foundation which also assists the less privileged.
The foundation’s aim is to get people back on their feet, and hopefully raise the aspirations of the affected people.
