Golf and club management company Troon has announced a new partnership with Yas Links Golf Club in Abu Dhabi.

The agreement will see Troon, a market leader in the industry which also specialises in golf development and marketing, expand its Middle Eastern portfolio from the two existing courses it works with in Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club.

Yas Links is recognised as one of the world’s top 50 courses, being ranked no. 44 in Golf Digest’s Top 100 courses and also boasting a Par 3 academy course, floodlit practice facilities and a salubrious clubhouse.

Mark Chapleski, President of Troon International, said: “Yas Links is an exciting signing for us – as a flagship venue in the Middle East, we are delighted to be managing the property going forward and to promoting Abu Dhabi as a must visit destination for any golf enthusiast.

“Our Troon associates around the globe have proven time and time again that they can produce results through their expertise in golf club management, and we are very optimistic about the future of these three facilities under one ownership group.

“Our primary goal is to make sure that they are running to their maximum efficiency, with superior service standards.”

Troon seeks to develop the overall operations of each course it works with, enhancing disciplines such as course conditioning, food and beverage and recruitment while also strengthening its golfing prestige.

It strives to attract more global visitors who will recognise the quality of the club, a strategy that has underpinned its success in the MENA region where it now possesses 17 venues.

Yas Links was opened in 2010 and designed by Kyle Phillips, representing one of the few links courses in a region where the sport continues to expand.

Jassem Saleh Busaibe, Chief Executive Officer of Aldar Investments – a leading real estate developer based in Abu Dhabi – said: “Having seen the work that Troon have done with Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club over the years, we have been very impressed with their expertise in agronomy and general golf operations, which has developed these clubs into worldwide icons that feature on the Ladies’ and Men’s European Tours.

“It was logical for us to move Yas Links under the same management umbrella as these other two world-class Abu Dhabi clubs, forming the best trio of golf courses anywhere in the Middle East region.

“We look forward to growing our relationship with Troon International and seeing positive results.”
