Abu Dhabi Airports has announced its sponsorship of the new Sport Talent Fund in the United Arab Emirates, supporting athletes in the country.
The company, which owns and operates five airports across the country and is a key player in the aviation industry, is supporting the Sport Talent Fund as part of its commitment to social responsibility.
Along with other donors to the fund, Abu Dhabi Airports was represented at a launch ceremony for the fund, which was set up in December 2018.
“Abu Dhabi Airports always strives to benefit the Emirati communities through supporting initiatives and adhering to its mission, which involves honoring our corporate and social responsibilities,” Mohammed Al Katheeri, Abu Dhabi Airports’ senior vice president of strategy and communications, explained.
Both companies, such as Abu Dhabi Airports, and private individuals have contributed to the talent fund, which aims to work with sports organisations to help develop UAE athletes.
The fund is international in its outlook, seeking global partnerships to help make UAE sports competitive on the world stage.
“As the UAE Sport Talent Fund was created to support Emirati sporting talents, Abu Dhabi Airports is delighted to contribute to promoting health and wellbeing,” Al Katheeri continued, “along with promoting the sports culture in our society at all times.”
The fund was set up in December by the chairman of the board of directors of the General Authority of Sports, Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi.
