Sports for Life, organiser of the World Corporate Games, has confirmed that the 2019 edition of the event will be hosted by Qatar next November.
The 23rd edition of the World Corporate Games – which last took place in Houston, Texas in 2017 – sees the event come to the region for the first time.
The announcement came at the Qatar-Germany Investment and Business Forum in Berlin, with German business leaders invited to compete.

“It gives us great pleasure to be hosting the World Corporate Games in Doha next year,” Hassan Al Ibrahim, Acting Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), said.

“The hosting of mass participation events such as this supports our goals for developing a vibrant sports and recreation tourism sub-sector in Qatar. Sport has a unique power to bring people together and we look forward to having this event amplify our country’s message of welcoming the world.”

The World Corporate Games sees men and women of all ages and abilities compete in sports as diverse as dragon boat racing and football – with over 40 sports set to appear.

“We are proud to open up this competitive and fun global competition to the business community in the region for the first time.”

Dr. Maureen Johnston, founder of the World Corporate Games, said: “We are delighted to be bringing the World Corporate Games to Doha in 2019.
“Doha is a phenomenal global capital of sport having hosted the Asian Games, Asian Cup and elite world championships in Handball, Para-athletics and Boxing and Cycling with the Gymnastics, Athletics and Swimming coming up, not to forget the FIFA World Cup.
“We are proud to be joining the likes of these outstanding events, and opening up a competitive and fun global competition to the business community in the region for the first time.”
