The Pro League Committee held its first CEOs meeting for the 2018-19 season at the UAE Football Association headquarters in Dubai on Tuesday.

The meeting was chaired by PLC CEO Waleed Al Hosani and attended by CEOs of the 14 professional clubs.

Al Hosani opened the meeting by welcoming the attendees and explained that the primary objective of these meetings is to improve the level of communication and tackle challenges facing all parties as one team working toward the continuous improvement of the system.

“The biggest challenge is developing revenue sources to achieve financial sustainability,” said Al Hosani. “That is why all stakeholders need to work together.”

TV broadcast projects were then reviewed, highlighting the TV viewership figure exceeding 10 millions achieved in the 2017-18 seasons. The AGL VR seat experience launched by the PLC last season in collaboration with Etisalat was also discussed, as well as technical support for Video Assistant Referee system, news highlights in association with SNTV which gained 142 million views in 38 countries, the official YouTube channel of the PLC and the digital broadcast rights.

The meeting continued with previewing the latest updates on online ticketing system, and a proposal of new marketing services for clubs was discussed to help the clubs increase ticket sales and target new fan bases as well as enhancing communication with the fans.

The Pro League Committee CEOs meeting was concluded by discussing the financial criteria in the UAE club licensing regulations and the possibility of developing it. Club representatives engaged in fruitful discussions about technical issues.
