Nike’s new Dream Crazier campaign has landed in the Middle East with Emirati figure skater Zahra Lari and Dubai-based marathon runner Manal Rostom featured by the global sportswear giant.

The two athletes are the focus of videos about their respective achievements, with Lahri’s detailing how she became the world’s first figure skater to compete in a hijab.

“I set a pretty big goal for myself,” Lari said. “And in order for me to reach that goal, it’s important for me to wake up at dawn every day to practice and not complain. Yes, I’m tired, but so is everyone else. A champion is not made by staying in bed. You have to work hard.”

Marathon runner and mountaineer Rostom is also featured as the Egyptian reflects on her life as an amateur female athlete and details her future aspirations.

“I cannot imagine myself without running,” she said. “I have to keep going – not just for me, but for all the young girls after me with the same dream – this is what I live for.”

Rostom featured in the inaugural advertising campaign for the Nike Pro Hijab in 2017.
