One of the Middle East’s largest pharmaceutical companies has launched a healthy living campaign in the United Arab Emirates.

As well as promoting healthy tips online, Julphar is set to sponsor sporting events in the UAE, beginning with the Ras Al Khaimah leg of the UAE Tour. The new cycle race runs from February 24 to March 2, passing through RAK on March 1.

Julphar is also introducing healthy living initiatives for staff at its Ras Al Khaimah site, including healthier options in canteens and weight-loss competitions.

Julphar’s general manager, Jerome Carle, explained: “As the UAE’s national pharmaceutical company, we are committed to helping live longer, healthier and happier lives.

“We have a special relationship with families and their health and wellbeing is important to us.”

Nearly half of UAE residents are overweight, and Julphar’s healthy living campaign is designed to educate and encourage the public to make changes to their lifestyles.

“We must increase the opportunities we have to make healthy choices around the exercise we take the food we eat,” Carle continued.

“It is vital that employers play more of a role in helping employees be healthy.”
