Dubai Holding will be the title sponsor of the 2019 Globe Soccer Awards, held in Madinat Jumeirah on 3 January.
The investment conglomerate will host the tenth edition of the prestigious awards, which recognise outstanding players, managers, agents and executives from the international football community.
The awards ceremony follows the Dubai International Sports Conference and will see the world’s leading football figures gather in Dubai.
Amit Kaushal, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding, said: “As part of our commitment to growing and enhancing Dubai’s global reputation, we are proud to partner with the Globe Soccer Awards to host this marquee event in the annual sports calendar, and to welcome many of the football world’s biggest stars to the Emirate.”
Cristiano Ronaldo, who won his fourth Best Player award at last year’s event, is nominated for the category once again. This time round he is joined by Antoine Greizmann and Kylian Mbappé.
Liverpool, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will compete for the club of the year award.
Unlike many other football awards, the Globe Soccer Awards specifically aim to recognise the efforts of agents and executives as well as players and managers.
The 13 categories will be judged by a panel of 24 judges, including Fabio Capello and Antonio Conte, with the winners announced at the gala event on 3 January.
Each edition of the Globe Soccer Awards has been held in Dubai, but the event’s new partnership with Dubai Holdings will see the ceremony take place at Madinat Jumeirah.
Globe Soccer CEO Tommaso Bendoni said: “We are delighted to welcome Dubai Holding to the Globe Soccer Awards team.
“Having one of the most dynamic and forward-thinking brands in Dubai as our title sponsor is a massive endorsement of the Globe Soccer Awards project.”
