Emirati skydiver Mohammed Baker is the latest XDubai star to perform on film, appearing in a promotional video for Dubai Airports.

Baker completes one of the world’s longest skydive swoops in the video, which also features six other XDubai athletes performing stunts in front of downtown Dubai.

The video was released to help refresh the DXB brand for the world’s busiest international airport.

Anita Mehra, VP marketing and corporate communications at Dubai Airports, said: “Our aim is to create the best of experiences for our esteemed customers – one that connects different cultures and captures the true spirit of Dubai.

“Our partnership with XDubai and this stunt are in line with that direction, symbolising Dubai’s spirit of adventure and ambition, as well as our vision to push boundaries and create exciting new experiences.”

The video shows Baker jumping out of a helicopter and skydiving over Dubai with a parachute showing the new DXB logo.

Baker then completes a 112m swoop under the Sheikh Zayed road bridge, believed to be the longest skydive swoop under a fixed structure.

Six other XDubai athletes also perform stunts in the video, including Hollywood stuntman Damien Walters, wakeboarder JB O’Neill, BMX rider Ola Selsjord, obstacle course racer Barbara Company and parkour athletes Lynn Jung and Kie Willis.

XDubai also brought in the talents of Murilo Galvez, who performs a cliff dive from the bridge into the Dubai Canal.

The 35-second video follows another stunt-filled film from XDubai in January 2019 to promote the new Bluewaters development, featuring motorcycle rider Sarah Lezito.

Mohammed Javad, XDubai’s general manager, said: “Since our inception, XDubai has not only inspired people around the world to defy their limits, but also put the spotlight on our home base of Dubai.

“Both Dubai Airports and XDubai are a product of the emirate’s ambitions – to show the world just what is possible with innovation, collaboration and determination – and this partnership to showcase the new DXB brand once again, did just that.”

Baker’s stunt formed part of an official event attended by HRH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and leading figures from Dubai Airports.
