Tickets are now available for the Ad Diriyah E-prix in Saudi Arabia on December 15.

The race will kick off the fifth season of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, which uses entirely electric vehicles.

The historic Ad Diriyah city will host a variety of music and entertainment evens alongside the 2.495km race.

Enrique Igelsias, Jason Derulo, the Black Eyed Peas and Amr Diab will perform on the nights leading up to race day, with OneRepublic and David Guetta entertaining the crowds at the end of the event on 15 December.

The various ticketing packages range from SAR295 for a single day to SAR950 for access to all three days of competition and entertainment.

The race itself will take drivers past the historic town walls of Ad Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010.

Since the Formula E Championship began in 2014 it has witnessed several developments at the cutting edge of sport.

The Ad Diriyah E-prix will be the first race to use the new second generation cars, which have more power and allow drivers to use a short “attack mode” boost to their battery power.

The new season will also allow fans to vote for their favourite drivers, who will then receive an additional burst of power. This “fanboost” element will make Formula E a more interactive sport by giving fans direct influence over events on the track.

The 2018-19 Formula E season will run until July 2019, with the final race held in New York.

The Championship is contested by 11 teams and 22 drivers, with French driver Jean-Éric Vergne the reigning champion.

Tickets are available online and at several locations around Riyadh, with the three-day event beginning on December 13.
